Police Visit Log –  New Lane, Cleckheaton

Private Business Care home Operation (opened 14 December 2024) - all these incidents happened after opening.

Police object to the Home prior to Certificate granted in July 2024

This log records documented police attendances connected with the operation of the children’s home at New Lane.

Major Incidents:

23 April 2025 – Major Night-Time Perimeter Search Between approximately 21:00 and after 01:00, multiple police vehicles (up to 4 recorded) attended the area. Gardens, drives, and perimeter areas of at least 8 properties on New Lane were searched using torchlight. A sniffer dog was deployed. Officers were observed climbing over locked gates and fences.

CCTV Evidence (from two neighbouring properties):

• CCTV footage clearly shows a black SUV parked in the drive and police activity with torchlight.
• Officers entered drives and rear garden areas.
• One resident with CCTV was instructed by police to “go inside, it does not concern you” while officers continued searching their property.
• The search was extensive and highly intrusive, lasting over four hours. The following day (24 April 2025), police returned requesting CCTV footage from neighbours.

May 2025 – Daytime Internal Property Search Police conducted a full internal search of  New Lane (immediately adjacent to the children’s home). This was witnessed and documented by the occupiers.

5 February 2026 – Ambulance & Increased Staffing An ambulance attended  New Lane following an internal incident. For the following 9 weeks, significantly increased staffing levels were observed, with 6–7 vehicles regularly parked at or near the property.

Additional Attendances Further police visits continued throughout 2025 and 2026. As of 12 June 2026, the total number of documented police attendances connected with the property exceeds 20.
